This is a pioneering work on the theory of the Junction transistor first published in 1957. The outstanding feature of the book is that the author has placed equal emphasis on the qualitative theory and quantitative theory. Mathematical theory follows description of the physics of the processes making the book easy to understand. The book is useful beginner in the field as well as an experienced researcher. The first part of the book deals with the basics of physics of semiconductors and pn junctions. the second part of the book is the core in which the theory of the junction transistor is developed. The third and final part of the book includes the author's contributions to equivalent circuit theory. The book I purchased is the original 1957 edition with the date 14th May 1957 stamped on it. I am proud to have this book in my collection . One of the most valuable books in my collection.
